12 miles off Gargano there are Isole Tremiti (Tremiti Islands), identified as “Le Perle dell’Adriatico” (Pearls of Adriatic sea) by their wonderful and pure beauty. The little archipelago is constituted by San Nicola, San Domino, Cretaccio, Caprara and Pianosa island, that is 11 miles off islands above-mentioned. Tremiti crystal clear water appeal many tourists every year. Archipelago of Isole Tremiti in the province of Foggia, called Isole Diomedee too, are favourite destination of many nature and quiet lovers. San Nicola is the old, religious and administrative centre of archipelago. It is an open air museum for many marks of an ancient and glorious past.
